The Johnston Health Foundation has just announced a major boost to its leadership team, appointing six dynamic new members to its board of directors. This move isn’t just about filling seats—it’s a bold statement about the foundation’s dedication to elevating healthcare and wellness across Johnston County. Meet the newcomers: Teresa Bau, a physician at UNC Health Family Medicine, brings clinical insight; Felita Carr, dean of retention and student support at Johnston Community College, adds a focus on education and community engagement; Kelly Daughtry, an attorney from Daughtry, Woodard, Lawrence & Starling, contributes legal acumen; Megan Kirk, MD, director of emergency services at UNC Health Johnston, offers frontline healthcare experience; Morgan O’Meara, senior vice president at State Employees’ Credit Union, brings financial strategy; and Melissa Overton, owner of MedicalTraining.me and The Overton Experience, adds entrepreneurial and training expertise. Together, they form a powerhouse of talent, each bringing a unique lens to the foundation’s mission of improving community health and well-being.
