Want to know how Ubly Community School students are learning to keep their hearts healthy and happy? On Monday, December 8th, over 300 students dove into a day of fun and learning, thanks to the Kids Heart Challenge, formerly known as Jump Rope for Heart Day! This yearly event, supported by the American Heart Association, isn't just about fun; it's a mission to educate and raise funds for a vital cause.
The main goal? To equip families with essential knowledge about heart health and life-saving CPR techniques.
This year, Aspire Rural Health System professionals showed Ubly students that the secret to a healthy heart lies in staying active throughout life. They emphasized that even short bursts of physical activity can significantly boost long-term heart health.
But here's where it gets exciting: to get the kids moving, Aspire brought in basketballs and jump ropes! And to amp up the fun, they even brought along their mascot, Scout the Squirrel!
Aspire's press release highlighted the importance of encouraging kids to get active, jump, and play. The students of Ubly certainly showed just how fun and energizing it can be!
And this is the part most people miss: The students had a blast playing with and showing off for Scout, as seen in the pictures.
Beyond the valuable lessons, each student was rewarded with a T-shirt and a gift from Scout, recognizing them as true Heart Heroes for their participation.
