Subaru’s 2026 Uncharted arrives in the U.S. with a compelling mix of range, pricing, and technology, while quietly breaking years of AWD tradition. The base model launches for $34,995, positioning the new entry-level electric vehicle well below the Solterra by about $3,500 and even undercutting the forthcoming Trailseeker by roughly $5,000.
The lineup starts with the Uncharted Premium FWD, marking Subaru’s first front-wheel-drive offering in the United States in many years. Its design leans toward a sharp, contemporary look that closely resembles the Toyota C-HR. While the styling doesn’t push boundaries, the package includes LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and a power liftgate. The crossover rides on 18-inch gloss-black wheels with 208 mm (8.2 inches) of ground clearance.
Inside, the cabin emphasizes simplicity with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The screen sits above a compact center console that features a rotary shifter and a dual wireless charging pad. Comfort amenities include heated front seats with 10-way power adjustment for the driver, ambient lighting, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control. A six-speaker audio system and digital key technology round out the essentials.
Safety and driver assistance come standard through Subaru’s EyeSight suite, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Front/Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Lane Departure Prevention. Additional features such as Proactive Driving Assist, Road Sign Assist, Emergency Steering Assist, Blind-Spot Monitor, and Safe Exit Assist enhance confidence on the road.
Powering the Uncharted Premium FWD is a 74.7 kWh battery paired with a front-mounted motor producing 221 hp (165 kW / 224 PS). Subaru estimates a real-world range exceeding 300 miles (483 kilometers). A DC fast-charging option via the NACS port can recharge from 10% to 80% in as little as 28 minutes.
Uncharted Sport starts at $39,795 and adds a lightly refreshed exterior with roof rails, plus a more refined interior featuring StarTex upholstery and a heated leather steering wheel. The sport trim brings an eight-way power front passenger seat and memory seating for the driver, along with enhanced driver-assistance options such as Lane Change Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and Surround View Monitor. The Sport equips a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 338 hp (252 kW / 343 PS), delivering noticeably stronger performance and maintaining more than 285 miles (459 kilometers) of range per charge.
At the top of the line is the Uncharted GT, priced from $43,795. It adds a panoramic glass roof, 20-inch gunmetal wheels, and available two-tone paint for an extra $970. Interior upgrades are modest but include heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, an 11-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and a digital rearview mirror with HomeLink. The GT shares the Sport’s powertrain but larger wheels and additional equipment reduce range somewhat, though Subaru projects more than 270 miles (435 kilometers) per charge.
